Pitcher vs. Meltwater

Built for client work.

Meltwater is a media intelligence platform at global scale, and its contract is written for enterprise procurement. This page is for independent agencies — where the row that matters most is not price but whether the licence permits you to use the product on behalf of your clients.

Who this page is for

Agencies and fractional comms leads who serve several companies from one workspace. Meltwater has an Agency tier, but its general terms prohibit use for third parties unless that use is approved in writing on the Order Confirmation — so multi-client work is a negotiated permission there and the default here. If you are an in-house team monitoring your own brand across dozens of markets, their scope is real and this page is not aimed at you.

How to read this table

Every row cites a source and a date. 'Not verified' means we couldn't confirm it from the competitor's published material and won't guess. Pitcher's own prices and limits are pulled from the same file that runs our billing, so what you see here is what you'd pay.

Where Meltwater is the better fit

Scale and coverage: global media monitoring, social listening, and an SLA incorporated into the contract by reference. Their terms are also amendable only by signed writing, which is a stronger protection than most vendors offer and one we match rather than beat. Pitcher is a media-relations workspace for the outreach itself, priced for the agency doing it.

What you're actually choosing

Two shapes of agreement. One publishes no price, auto-renews at then-current rates with special pricing limited to the initial term, requires sixty days notice to stop, takes the full term in advance on net-14 terms, ties your seats to a named country, and permits client work only where an Order Confirmation says so. The other prints three prices, locks yours while you stay subscribed, cancels at the end of the period you paid for, and is built for several clients from the first day. We wrote ours down so you can hold us to it.

No credit card. List price is the price.
